CLONING

Cloning is the process of creating an identical copy of something. It collectively refers to processes used to create copies of DNA fragments (molecular cloning), cells (cell cloning), or organisms. This animation introduces you to the concept of "molecular scissors" which are used to cut the DNA into fragments. This can be done using enzymes called restriction endonucleases (or restriction enzymes), that digest DNA at sequence-specific sites.
